Familiarize yourself with the online game your playing. Your swimming in a sea of sharks if you don't have a real solid understanding of the game your playing and what to do in certain situations. Don't think that just because your playing online that people can't see your read your style of play. Online players can vary from being very novice to very sharp and you don't wanna take the risks that are unnecessary. Know the game your playing. Beware of no limit poker games as well. You may find yourself up against World Series of Poker type of players as well as your at higher risk to be playing against poker cheats!

Take advantage of low dollar rooms. Here you will find many weak players that you can dominate if you have ANY knowledge of playing poker online. Your playing the game to make money right? As cruel as it sounds, it's either your money or theirs, so you may as well crush weak competition!

This tip also refers to playing in smaller dollar games. "A slow drip fills the bucket"! While you may be inclined to jump into high stakes games, try to be patient and go for smaller fish that your more likely to beat up on. First and most importantly we're trying to make cash here. Second, we're trying not to lose. A slow drip fills the bucket. 0.50/1.00 games may end up being more profitable than highly volitale high stakes action. Make wise decisions. Haste makes waste!

Don't play stale! What is stale you ask? Playing stale includes being dazed, tired from playing too long, sleepy, etc. You will lose loot if you lose your mental edge. Other players will recognize this and keep chipping away at you until your bankroll is shot. If you feel "stale", get up and walk around or go grab a drink of water. If you can't shake it, go home and save your poker playing for another day. You WILL lose if you lose your edge and concentration.

Study your games! Know what your playing and know it well. Know what poker hands are and which hand beats which hand. Sharpen up by playing in lower stakes games until your ready to go up against the big boys. A solid player will always prevail in the long run versus a weaker poker player!

Money management! You aren't gonna win every time out! Don't overdo it! If you are losing your tail, pack up and go home. Don't chase losses. Mama said there was gonna be days like this! Get your tail up and leave if you are having a bad day. There's always another game and always another day. We can't explain bad luck, but it happens! When it does, run like heck and go treat yourself to a nice dinner. Shake it off and start fresh next time you site down at the tables.

Don't let other players at the table get under your skin. There's some real head gamers at the table that will stare at you, act arrogant, or like they know something you don't, or even at times act like they know what cards your holding. Avoid eye contact, it can only hurt you. If your playing online, avoid chatting with others. Stay focused. Let them waste their time playing games while you devise your solid plan to beat them!
